Artificial Intelligence Modern Approach

There are number of books written in the field of artificial intelligence. Artificial Intelligence Modern Approach is one of the best books written for the field of artificial intelligence and the book is extensively used in the universities.

The book Artificial Intelligence Modern Approach was written by Stuart Russell and Peter Norvig. The book has been crowned as the leading text book for the study of artificial intelligence. Currently it is reported that the book is used in thousand one hundred universities over hundred and two countries. Therefore, I personally believe that this is an outstanding accomplishment for a book.

Artificial Intelligence Modern Approach has eight parts explaining the modern approaches of artificial intelligence.

In part 1, it is all about introducing the world of AI to the students. As the book is published for undergraduate studies, the readers only have to have some level of knowledge in maths and computer science. In addition to that, Intelligent Agents are also presented in the first part.

In the part two, artificial intelligence problem solving is introduced. Although the part 2 maybe too early to talk about AI roblem solving, Artificial Intelligence Modern Approach does not make you lost with its content. In this part, only the high level constructs are presented associated to AI problem solving.

Part three to part seven of Artificial Intelligence Modern Approach is about various domains of artificial intelligences. Part 3 is all about knowledge and reasoning. The first-order logic and the related problems are emphasized in this part.

Planning in AI is the next part of the book. When it comes to AI, not much stress has been given for AI planning. Therefore, committing an entire part for planning is a great move as it meets the knowledge requirement of the students.

Part five is totally devoted for uncertainty related problems. Since uncertain knowledge and reasoning is something which is kernel to AI, much emphasis is given for this area of the subject. In addition to that, this part introduces a great deal of knowledge about simple and complex decision making in artificial intelligence.

Since machine learning is one of the primary topics of artificial intelligence, Artificial Intelligence Modern Approach has devoted the next part for machine learning. By giving the students the full picture of machine learning, this part talks about all sorts of machine learning activities.

It is robotics that comes under part 7. Since robotics is something the young inventors dying for, the authors have kept it for a latter part as it will be a motivation for students to keep reading the book. In part 8, writers have given their conclution on AI modern approaches and the book ends there.
